Rancho Cucamonga Politics Heating Up

It’s unfortunate when two groups with the mission of protecting the public are at odds. In this case it’s SEBA and the Rancho Cucamonga Professional Firefighters.

Regrettably, once again the fire union has decided to back candidates that would see an end to the Sheriff’s contract, placing in jeopardy 133 safety positions in addition to numerous non-sworn personnel. Why? Because they don’t get everything they want. The cry-babies apparently want more. Not just money, but more of everything. More money, more benefits, more personnel, plus as a bonus, a racquetball court at the Day Creek Station. More of everything. More, More!, More!. Kind of sounds like a kid! Mommy, can I have some more?

They, the firefighters, want to reprioritize public safety funding in the city so they get more! “More”, a common theme here!
Let’s just call this the Firefighter’s “More” campaign. Like pigs at the trough there is never enough slop to go around.

With former Firefighter’s (Imagine that!) Mayor Alexander and Councilman Spagnaolo looking for a new councilmember to vote with them to vote for a majority, it’s going to be a heated October. Just like two years ago, SEBA will have to go to the mat to protect our status in the city. It’s a shame that we have to resort to negative attack campaigning, but apparently they didn’t get the message last time.

Why does the Mayor want us gone? We’ll go to the Superior Court website and look up his son, William J. Alexander, and you’ll see the 14 dockets for this 25 year old. Mostly, all were at the courtesy of the Sheriff’s Department. But remember, according to the Mayor it’s our fault.

If you live in Rancho or know others that do, remember to vote to elect Dr. Don Kurth, Mayor, and re-elect Council members Diane Williams and Rex Gutierrez.
