Good news for a change
The last few articles that I have written have been nothing but bad news about the economy and pension reform,
so I decided to put some nice things in the magazine this month. I would like to start by saying I hope everyone
had a safe and happy holiday season. This month you will not find any articles from the Labor Representatives.
Instead, this issue will be dedicated to all those who helped with our Shop With a Cop program and also Detective
Al Lobo who is pictured on the cover. I would like everyone to take the time to read the article on Detective Lobo,
and then appreciate all that we have and the struggle Al has gone through yet refuses to let it keep him down.
I would also like to extend my gratitude to all the people involved in Shop With a Cop, including the volunteers
and employees of the Probation Department, Sheriff’s Department, District Attorney’s Office, Welfare Fraud, and
San Manuel Department of Public Safety. Also thank you to the elected officials and all the outside agencies that
assisted us in this outstanding charity event that SEBA sponsors every year. The magazine will feature pictures from
the various Shop with a Cop event locations that occurred during December.
Again, thank you for all those who participated to help make this a special event for the 550 children and families
that we help.
As always be safe out there.
