Safety Negotiations Update

On October 13th, SEBA met with the County to negotiate the ground rules for the Safety Unit negotiations. The negotiation session was led by SEBA Attorney Steve Silver; it lasted three hours concluding with reaching an agreement. On October 25th, the Safety Negotiation Team met to discuss the proposals SEBA would be providing to the County. The meeting lasted three hours producing nineteen (19) proposals. SEBA Attorney Steve Silver officially presented the proposals to the County on October 27th. Our next scheduled meetings are October 31st, November 1st and November 29th. SEBA will provide more information as it becomes available.

SPO Negotiations Update

On October 13th SEBA and the County met for a mediation/arbitration hearing regarding the status of the SPO negotiations. As you are aware the SPO membership has rejected two tentative agreements. The parties met before Mediator/Arbitrator Paul Crost. Mr. Crost was unsuccessful in getting the parties to reach a mediated agreement. Therefore, Mr. Crost became the arbitrator in the matter. SEBA Attorney Steve Silver presented SEBA’s position and Assistant Human Resources Director Bob Windle presented the County position. Once we receive Mr. Crost’s decision a SEBA NEWS flash will be sent out.
