"Cops & Kids Fishing Derby 2010"
Fishing Derby Successful "Fun" Raiser
The fish were jumping at this year's "Cops and Kids Fishing Derby," another successful fishing event for kids.
The SEBA sponsored event benefited the SEBA Charity Fund.

The Derby hosted 38 children from Trinity Children's Foundation, which served special needs foster children throughout the Inland Empire.

The kids were given a fishing pole, some instruction, and then went at it. "Most of the kids had never finished before,"
Danne Thomas, Derby organizer said. Volunteers were busy baiting hooks, retying lines, and teaching kids how to cast.

The event took place at Jess Ranch Lakes in Apple Valley. More than $2,000 was given in prizes. Among the prizes were a
10 speed Mountain Bike, MP3 Players, Dodger Tickets and Dodger gifts, Go Cart Race tickets, backpacks and many games.

The event was supported by San Manuel Band of Mission Indians who made the event possible.

The day was rounded out with hot dogs cooked on a grill, goody bags and food certificates.
Credit is given to the volunteers who came out and offered their time and talents to the event. "We couldn't have
done it without them," It was a really good experience.
